Predictive Maintenance (PdM) Programs |
|
M&B is the industry's PdM low-cost & value
leader. We provide data collection services, turnkey analysis programs, and
training. If you want to reduce your Operations & Maintenance costs and
increase Reliability, all while keeping program costs to a minimum, let us
help you.
PdM Programs are the
best first-step toward increasing equipment reliability for most of
customers. Periodic vibration data surveys have been continually proven to
detect the majority of machinery problems in the most cost effective and
timely manner. And early detection allows for planned maintenance, with less
reactive and breakdown maintenance, while increasing asset reliability.
We generally use and
recommend Azima DLI’s robust DCX XRT four-channel data collector, with an embedded Expert-ALERT software analysis system. By using a triaxial
accelerometer with dual frequency span ranges at each bearing, we
quickly gather optimal low and high frequency data - up to 60% faster than traditional single
axis methods. And, all
data can be analyzed directly on the XRT while at the machine, avoiding typical route
upload / download / analysis delays. This ensures that if we find an
impending failure, you will be quickly notified, and we have the right
diagnostic tools and the right know-how to rectify most machine malfunctions
quickly and efficiently.
Depending on your desired level of involvement,
we offer the following general options:
Vibration & Hardware Training,
Program Setup & Management, and Remote Data Analysis
Turnkey Programs
Periodic Audits

Turnkey
Programs
We can design, program, and staff a
complete, cost-effective, PdM Program to handle all of your
routine data collection & analysis needs. We will provide all of the
man-power, equipment & analysis expertise to provide you with a
fully-functional program in a fraction of the time you would spend
implementing, training, and staffing a program on your own.
PdM routes can be established for your entire plant or
a sub-set of machinery.
Each route is designed and maintained by our professional
field services staff with their integrity, knowledge and experience working
for you every step of the route.

Training, Setup & Remote
Analysis
By far, our customers have shown a
preference for assuming the majority of the manpower and data collection
tasks, while leaving in-depth analysis up to us, to be performed remotely.
PdM routes and databases
can be established for your entire plant, or a sub-set of desired machinery.
Each route is designed and maintained by our professional
field services staff with their integrity, knowledge and experience working
for you every step of the route.

PdM
Program Audits
M&B offers PdM Program Audits designed to
assist you in the optimization and analysis your existing PdM programs. We
review transducer applications & data acquisition settings on a per-machine
basis, and analyze historical data. We will work with your plant personnel
to thoroughly review data collection and analysis techniques,
instrumentation setup , and computer database setup. We will also review the
PdM database configuration for parameters such as:
Data
acquisition intervals for optimum labor usage.
Proper frequency ranges
(Fmax) and number of lines of spectral resolution, based upon the machine
and bearing bearings. This allows accurate analysis of typical machinery
faults for that specific machine.
Transducer response
ranges based on machine operating speed and expected frequency responses.
This ensures very low (cooling tower, belts, etc.) or very high frequency
responses (gear mesh, motor rotor bar passage, etc.) are not missed by an
inappropriate transducer application.
Optimization of software
alarming and reporting functions to reduce analysis time.
Our
PdM Program Audits ensure you realize the best value from your labor and
equipment investment, and to help increase your machinery reliability.
